Stress, hormonal variations and a weakened immune system can disrupt the natural balance of genital flora, making it easier for pathogenic bacteria (germs) to multiply. With lactobacilli, you support the regeneration of a healthy vaginal environment and accelerate the restoration of the natural pH level. The acidic environment of physiological vaginal flora protects against germs in many ways and is an essential element in the body’s own defence mechanism.
External and internal factors such as taking specific medication or a weakened immune system have a significant effect on our health. This, of course, can also disturb the natural balance of physiological vaginal flora and weaken the vaginal defence mechanism. The resultant symptoms have a negative impact on physical and psychological well-being. Often, they also impact intimacy within a relationship.
We are not always able to ensure a balanced life. There are, however, simple measures you can take to support your immune system. On our page lactobacilli for healthy vaginal flora, you will find helpful information about protecting your body’s genital environment and keeping it healthy with natural lactobacilli.
A healthy and powerfully defensive vaginal environment is especially important during pregnancy. With the vaginal pH test from Vagiflor® care, you can recognise changes to the physiological vaginal environment before they become problematic and immediately consult your gynaecologist. In most cases, such changes are accompanied by an increase in the pH level.
Bacterial vaginosis is associated with an imbalance in the good bacteria (lactobacilli); the vaginal pH level rises and it is easier for pathogenic bacteria to multiply. The protective lactobacilli are forced out. This can lead to symptoms like an unpleasant odour and discharge. Bacterial vaginosis is initially treated with antibiotics, but relapses often occur. By using Vagiflor®, you not only support the healing process; you also prevent a recurrence.
After treatment with a course of antibiotics, you can support the regeneration of healthy vaginal flora by using Vagiflor® vaginal suppositories for a few days, accelerating the restoration of a naturally acidic pH level. Using the vaginal suppositories introduces new bacteria that produce lactic acid into the genital area, restoring the physiologically natural, and thus healthy, pH level. This is a natural way to avoid repeat infections.
Certain situations can result in a weakening of the body’s defences and often lead to yeast infections. An unbearable itch is the typical sign. A well- established anti-fungal agent such as clotrimazole is used for acute treatment of a yeast infection.
Treatment with vaginal tablets is recommended for safe and targeted therapy. The applicator provided makes it easier to insert them into the vagina. Anti-fungal agents with the active ingredient clotrimazole work by attacking the cell membrane of the yeast, preventing growth (fungistatic action).
Disruption to the body’s defence mechanism makes it easier for bladder infections to occur. Typical symptoms, such as a burning sensation when passing urine and an incessant urge to urinate are normally harmless, but very unpleasant for the affected woman.
Vagiflor® cystimed is a gentle and effective way to treat acute or recurrent bladder infections. The natural D-Mannose sugar attaches itself to E. coli, the most common cause of bladder infections. The E. coli are then unable to attach to the bladder wall and are simply flushed out in the urine.
Women who frequently suffer from bladder infections can strengthen the vaginal mucosa with protective Vagiflor® lactobacilli. This stabilises the physiological environment and prevents infections in the bladder and urinary tract.

Bacterial vaginosis is often described as a bacterial infection. In fact, it is an imbalance (bacterial dysbiosis) of the naturally occurring bacteria in the vagina. Lactobacilli — lactic acid bacteria — can help to restore the balance.
